Growing with Church of the Trinity
At Church of the Trinity we give prime importance to the quality of our relationships with God and each other.
The greater your depth of relationship, and the greater your commitment to the vision of Church of the Trinity, the greater your involvement will be. Standing on the outside, however, it can look quite intimidating to build relationships and get involved. Here is a process we have set up that should aid you in this.
Step One – Getting To Know Each Other
Relationship is foundational to becoming part of our church. Without it we feel alone and not “part of things.” So the first step to becoming a member is to build relationships. This is done through attending services Sunday mornings regularly, staying after services on Sunday mornings to meet and talk to people, and attending small groups and program events as you are able. You will find that Church of the Trinity is a welcoming community and an easy place to make new friends.
Step Two – Meet With A Pastor
Once you have gotten to know us, then we invite you to get together with a pastor to talk more thoroughly about membership, the church, and any other questions you may have. This time gives us a chance to get to know you better as well, and prepare you for next steps in your commitment.
Step Three – Membership
Membership classes are offered quarterly. Anyone who is interested in learning more about Church of the Trinity is invited to attend. Membership at Church of the Trinity is a covenant. As your church community we convenant with you to partner in your spiritual growth, to be with you in times of joy and hardship. You covenant with us to give your regular attendance, financial support, and gifts of time and talent. Members are part of our decision making process at the annual meeting and election of members of the Board of Directors.
Step Four – Building up the Body of Christ
When you are ready to make the membership commitment we will receive you during a morning worship service and welcome you into membership.
Step Five – Finding Your Place of Ministry
At your meeting with a pastor, you will receive a packet of spiritual gifts assessment materials. These will help you work with a pastor to find a place of ministry/service in the body that is fulfilling to you and meaningful to others. It will help you define where your passion is and we will work with you to find or create a place in this body.
